Harry takes BRONZE for Kumite

Harry takes BronzeCongratulations to Harry Theron who earned a bronze medal for Kumite at the JKAE National Championships on Sunday 1st July. Harry will receive his medal and certificate in class this week! Well done to Hefer and Ernst who performed very well in their events. The Kyu Grade Nationals will be held in November 2007.

Ernst Takes GOLD!!

JKAE Kyu Grade National Championships 2006Congratulations to Ernst and Hefer who both performed extremely well in both kata and kumite events at the Kyu Grade National Championships 2006. Both brothers narrowly missed out in a medal in the kata competition and had the misfortune of being matched against each other in kumite. The first round result was extremely close with Ernst winning and subsequently going on to take first place.

Both 4th Kyu students showed great spirit, good etiquette and (hopefully!) bear no hard feelings towards each other (although Hefer informs us that he will win next time!!)

The popular event included demonstrations of the katas Kanku-Sho and Enpi by the junior national squad and an impressive performance of one of Shotokan’s most difficult kata, Unsu by senior squad member Bianca Bam. Read more of this post
